Xenophon's Wine

When we first got to the Struise farm, Urbain told us about his "strange" new barley wine, which he was calling Xeno's Ale. It was his first venture into barley wine and it had been ageing for some time in a barrel. Through some discussions, we decided that this brew might need a little kick from his American guests... enter Pipeworks.  Brewing a second batch of Xeno's Ale, Beejay and Devon tossed in a boat load of hops to back up the heavy malt character of the original. The new creation was dubbed Xenophon's wine, after the Greek historian who is believed to have first coined the term barley wine.

Newsflash

Pipeworks is a microbrewery venture in progress to be based out of Chicago. We are getting some help from our friends at De Struise in Belgium, to get us started on the right path. While we have yet to open our doors, you can look forward to some of our collaborative beers with breweries like De Struise, Picobrewerij Alvinne, and hopefully some future joint ventures. We will be updating this site regularly with information on future brewing projects and the evolution of Pipeworks Brewing Company.

Cheers
